Woke up around 8:30 AM. Had breakfast at the hotel. Call the shop to check on the bike they are working on the bike and will let me know something by noon today. I got a call from Dan with Sparks Cycles around 1 PM, he said that they had to order a relay and the bike would not be ready until Tuesday. I told him whatever it takes! I will have to come back for the bike after the Conference on Thursday. I rented a car from Thrifty Car Rental (A Dodge Charger) $83.00. I went to the PIMA Air & Space Museum http://www.pimaair.org/ at 4 PM This place is very cool. They closed at 5 PM so I only had an hour there, I needed 2 to 3 hours. I will try to go back some day. Outside of the Museum across the street, there is a airplane grave yard at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Thousands of retired planes (Way Cool!). You can't go there without an advance tour reservations. Then I went to Saguaro National Park http://www.nps.gov/sagu/ around 5:30 PM. Saguaro is a forest of many kinds of Cactus. The are many saguaro that were over 50 feet tall (This place should not be pass up). I drove the 8 mile loop in the park.
I went back to the hotel to regroup and decided to go to the Desert Diamond Casino and try the slots. I started with $80.00 on one $1.00 slot machine. I ended up winning $120.00 (Pays for the car rental). On the way back to the hotel I saw this swap meet that was going on at 10:00 PM. I had to stop and check it out. The Tanque Verde Swap Meet is located on 4100 S. Palo Verde. I had a good time there, it has a mexico fair ground/flea market atmosphere. You can buy almost anything there from food to clothes.
Had dinner at Chili's at 12:00 PM and made it back to the hotel around 1 PM. I'll head to Phoenix tomorrow without my motorcycle. :-(
No Miles recorded today!
